The Lake Grliste,Serbia

The Lake Grliste is situated amid the villages Leskovac and Grliste. It occupies the surface of approximately 100 ha, and its depth amounts to 28 m. The purpose of its formation was to supply water to Zajecar and surrounding settlements.

The lake was stocked with the adequate fish species; kaugler, bream, carp, babushka, goldfish, chub, perch and catfish prevail. In the mere vicinity of the lake, near the village Grliste, there is a Monastery of Sent Peter and Paul, discreetly positioned in the shades of the old coniferous forests, planted by the monk Jermonenko in the twenties of the XX century.
